![]() It’s important to remember that a weight of 249g was a very important goal to accomplish, and so everything on the Mavic Mini is basically function over form. But for what it is, I think what DJI has done here is perfectly adequate. If that is the case, then I can understand their criticism. ![]() Instead, this plastic is way more sturdy than those polycarbonate shells, and so I guess those who complained about it feeling “cheap and flimsy” were probably saying so in reference to DJI’s more premium drones. If you’ve ever played with remote control cars, then you’ll be familiar with those really thin and flexible polycarbonate shells, and that’s essentially what I was expecting to see here. After taking it out of the box I must say that I was pleasantly surprised, because it did not feel as I was led to believe. Now, I don’t have any experience with other Mavic drones, so I really didn’t have a clue as to what to really expect here. One of the recurring complaints I picked up on with other reviews is that the Mini feels cheap and flimsy. I’m not going to bore you with the details as to why 249g is so important and all that jazz instead, I’d much rather just give you my impression of it after having seen all those reviews.Īs far as the design is concerned, it’s very similar to the likes of DJI’s other drones, especially with regards to how it folds up, and it’s just as though everything is scaled down into a very neat and compact form factor. Honestly, I had no idea of exactly what the significance of the Mini was, and by the end I must’ve watched around 6 hours worth of reviews.
